Job Title: Director of Procurement
Department: Operations
Reports to: Sr. Director of Clinical Operations

The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading the transformation and optimization of procurement operations across The Fertility Partners network. This role involves streamlining existing procurement processes, developing comprehensive cost reduction strategies, and standardizing procurement practices to drive significant value to our clinics and network operations. The Director of Procurement will serve as a thought leader in building a world-class procurement program that supports our mission of delivering exceptional patient care while optimizing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The Director of Procurement provides strategic leadership by defining and implementing the Company's procurement needs and initiatives, in collaboration with the Operations team, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and clinic stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Company's overall strategies and long-term business objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities

Supervisory

  • Leads and develops a high-performing procurement team, fostering a collaborative, performance-driven culture focused on excellence in vendor management, cost optimization, and process efficiency across all network locations with direct reports including Procurement Managers, Purchasing Coordinators, and Contract Specialists.

Operations

  • Collaborate with the Operations team and SLT to establish and implement procurement strategies that drive effective clinic acquisition support, growth, and profitability balanced with risk mitigation and compliance requirements.

  • Translate procurement strategy into actionable goals at clinic level for cost savings and operational efficiency, helping to implement procurement-wide KPIs and performance metrics.

  • Foster a collaborative relationship with centers and act as a liaison between clinic and corporate procurement teams to drive buy-in and execution of procurement initiatives and provider engagement.

  • Lead efforts to identify and implement procurement workflow improvements and strategic sourcing initiatives that improve costing, productivity, capacity, and utilization across the network.

  • Partner with TFP Technology and provide leadership in operating and leveraging procurement technology at corporate and clinic level to ensure a commitment to delivering outstanding, cost-effective procurement solutions with a focus on improving clinical operations and outcomes, and patient experience.

  • Partner with TFP Finance and Operations teams to develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring accurate monthly forecasting, efficient and cost-effective resource allocation, and alignment against financial targets.

  • Work alongside TFP Legal to ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and industry standards across all procurement operations, minimizing risks and upholding the organization's reputation for high-quality care.

  • Drive Corporate Level and Clinic Level Procurement Performance Analysis, Insights and Reporting:

    • Establish and analyze procurement, vendor performance and cost savings KPIs and data to generate powerful facts and insight that identify issues, opportunities for improvement, and solutions, based on a deep understanding of procurement full potential, key performance drivers and performance benchmarking, both within and across clinics.

    • Work with all corporate divisions to link procurement and cost savings KPIs to drive the clinic P&L model. Lead and analyze procurement data necessary for operation due diligence of potential acquisition targets.

    • Work hand-in-hand with IT & Data Engineering team to inform procurement data field and structure appropriate for reporting and analytics. Work with IT & clinic to drive procurement data governance through workflow improvements.

    • Develop procurement KPI dashboards for clinics and head office to proactively manage procurement performance and cost savings initiatives.

  • Oversee procurement standardization initiatives across the network.

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management:

  • Design and implement comprehensive vendor selection, evaluation, and contract negotiation processes aligned with clinical needs and organizational objectives.

  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance monitoring across all procurement categories including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, supplies, and services.

  • Negotiate enterprise-wide contracts to maximize cost savings, service levels, and value delivery to clinic operations.

  • Conduct regular vendor reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supplier performance and cost-effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, organizational policies, and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) requirements.

Process Optimization & Standardization:

  • Analyze current procurement workflows across all network locations and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and standardization.

  • Implement standardized procurement processes, templates, contracts, and vendor management frameworks across the entire network.

  • Create performance metrics and KPIs to measure procurement effectiveness, cost savings, and operational efficiency.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of procurement processes with clinical and operational needs.

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Exceptional procurement and supply chain management skills, with the ability to understand, define and identify procurement optimization opportunities across healthcare operations.

  • Strong cross-functional collaborator and team player capable of building effective working relationships needed to execute cost savings and process improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to program manage the execution of procurement initiatives to ensure that they have proper objectives, timelines, and KPIs.

  • Ability to navigate the complexities of multiple operational stakeholders across clinic network and corporate functions.

  • Support multiple, complex, and often conflicting and quickly changing procurement priorities across diverse clinical environments.

  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Contract negotiation and vendor management expertise with proven track record of achieving cost savings.

  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) operations.

  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.

Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline is required.

  • MBA or Master's degree in related discipline is a definite asset.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with preference for healthcare operations experience.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing procurement teams and vendor relationships.

  • Professional procurement certification preferred (CPM, CPSM, or equivalent).

  • Experience working in a high-growth, private equity-driven organization preferred.

  • Proven track record of leading successful procurement transformations and achieving measurable cost savings.

  • Experience with healthcare procurement categories including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and clinical supplies preferred.
