Ontario’s $250 Million Investment and New Tax Credit Mark a Major Step Forward for Accessible Fertility Care
On October 8, 2025, the Government of Ontario announced a $250 million expansion of the Ontario Fertility Program (OFP) — a major step toward making fertility care more accessible and affordable for families across the province.
This expansion will triple the number of families who can benefit from publicly funded fertility treatments by supporting both new and existing clinics throughout Ontario. It will also help shorten waitlists, increase the number of IVF cycles available, and enhance equitable access to care.
In addition to the OFP expansion, Ontario has introduced a new Fertility Tax Credit (effective January 2025), offering a 25 percent refund — up to $5,000 per year — on eligible out-of-pocket fertility expenses, such as IVF cycles, medications, and related costs.
Together, the Ontario Fertility Program and the Fertility Tax Credit represent one of the most comprehensive supports for fertility care in North America — giving more Ontarians the opportunity to grow their families with confidence and hope.
We applaud this leadership and remain dedicated to ensuring that every patient across our network — from initial consultation to treatment — receives exceptional care rooted in expertise, innovation, and compassion.
